PHP Frameworks
Laravel
Just by browsing a few sites, most seem to agree that Laravel is a highly rated PHP framework. It is claimed to be simple to use, as well as have no practical learning curve. Not only that, Laravel has their own template engine, Blade, that allows users to use as a local development environment, among many other features.
Symfony
Symfony is extremely popular, similarly to Laravel, and boasts a wide range of features and PHP libraries for it's users to utilize. Over 300,000 developers user Symfony, and the development team continues to stay involved with the community and provide regular updates on their blog. One thing to note however, is that there seems to be a somewhat steep learning curve to using Symfony, due to how many features it has, but numerous community guides exist in place to help those learn how to use Symfony.
CodeIgniter
CodeIgniter is a PHP framework that provides a variety of advanced features, as well as possessing an intuitive library structure for users to utilize. While CodeIgniter is fast and fairly light in terms of how much of additional resources are needed, this does mean that it has limited features, and compared to other PHP frameworks, CodeIgniter has a slower development cycle than others.
Summary
While the three PHP frameworks listed above each have unique features that set them apart from each other, there are dozens of other PHP frameworks that exist on the internet for developers to use.
