Unique Rooms

Welcome to the fan-site that provides useful information on the Minecraft Modpack known as Vault Hunters: 3rd Edition! Vault Hunters is an action-rpg style modpack that places focus on running vaults, timed dungeons with a main objective, and completing them for a change to get an artifact. Collecting 25 unique artifcats is required to be able to access the final vault, where you can defeat the final boss of the mod pack! Don't worry however, as more content is planned for after this final boss known as "greed", but it has yet to be implemented into the game.

Within each vault lies a couple of unqiue rooms that differ from a standard room, and they are categorized into 3 sections. Challenge rooms provide a fair amount of loot that is typically guarding by a unique set of mobs. Omega rooms are rooms that have a vast amount of loot with no active danger present in the room. Lastly, unique rooms can appear in specific themes and offer different resources than the typical vault would. Here, you'll find a list of every unqiue vault room that can spawn in a vault, what types of treasures they may hold, and any relevant info related to each room.

Challenge Rooms
Crystal Caves Challenge Room The Crystal Caves challenge room is one of the most common challenge rooms available, offering a wide variety of vault ores in crystals, that spawn mobs when you get close enough to them. Every Vault Ore can spawn within this room except for Larimar, so you'll be able to get a decent amount of good ores each time you encounter this room. In addition, vault themes that modify the distribution of ores do not affect this room.
Dragon Challenge Room The Dragon Challenge room is home to numerous amounts of coin piles waiting to be looted, however, there are several spawners scattered throughout the bottom section of the room. These spawners release mobs gradually, so it takes a bit of time to fully clear the room.
Factory Challenge Room In the Factory room, player's can peek through the crates to find compressed resource blocks waiting for them. In addition, the player can also find a large bucket hanging from the ceiling, overflowing with magma. In this bucket the player can find ancient debris and even a block of Netherite.
Village Challenge Room There are 3 variantions of the Village room; dawn, day, and night. They each have a unique chest type, ornate, living, and gilded respectively. The player needs to find a way into the catacombs underneath the village, where the player can then find lots of loot, as well as plenty of enemies. This is also the only room to still have non-fizzle mob spawners, so you'll need to break them to get rid of them.
Wild West Challenge Room The Wild West challenge room is a gilded chest focused room. Scattered throughout the houses and other structures lies various amounts of gilded chests, however, large amounts of tnt lay nearby aswell.
X-Mark Challenge Room In the X-Mark challenge room, the player can dig underneath the "X" to have a 50% chance in recieving treasure, and a 50% chance to be trapped with mobs. If rewarded, the player will have access to numerous amounts of ornate chests, and if the player discovers a trapped X-Mark, they may face quite the horde of enemies.
Omega Rooms
Image of Blacksmith Omega Room The Blacksmith omega room is home to a plentiful amount of ornate chests, stored in a castle located in a frozen environment. The castle has several underground floors despite its appearance.
Image of Cove Omega Room The Cove omega room contains the remains of a ship lost at sea, where their rather large loot stash of gold has been scattered all around the ship.
Image of Cube Omega Room The Cube omega room, despite its name, can sometimes offer no substantial loot. Thhere are puzzle blocks located in each square, and the player must recieve the correct rarity of the puzzle blocks to complete the puzzle shown in the center of the room, on top of what looks to be an echo pog. Doing so will grant the player 25 gilded chests.
Image of Digsite Omega Room By far the rarest and most valuable room in the entire game is the digsite room. This room is filled to the brim with a special kind of treasure sand that grants soul shards, bronze, inscription pieces, gear, jewels, catalyst fragments, and more! To put into comparison of how rare this room is, on statistical average, you'll come across the digsite room for every 49 other omega rooms discovered. The room itself has a 1 / 2500 chance to appear.
Image of Library Omega Room This ancient library is full of books, but more importantly, gilded chests! There are several floors to this room, as well as an upstairs section that is access via a set of stairs on the main level.
Image of Mine Omega Room The Mine Room is the best place to look for vault ores. While many may not be exposed, there are plenty of ores hiding in the walls of the mine room. Specific themes that effect ore generation do not influence the ore generation in the mine room.
Image of Mushroom Omega Room The Mush Room is overgrown with living chests. There are slight variations of this room, as either a large red mushroom can appear housing several living chests, or a rotten stump can appear with several living chests surrounding it.
Image of Painting Omega Room In the Painting Room exists nearly every loot type in the game. Wooden, living, gilded, and ornate chests can be found within each paint bucket. In addition coin piles can be found below the main platform near paint brushes, and ores can be found inside the floating paint drops that are close to the ceiling.
Image of Vendor Omega Room Do you have bronze that's just burning a hole in your pocket? Bring it into the vault in case you find a vendor omega room! Multiple items are for sale in these rooms, including inscriptions, vault gear, trinkets, jewels, and more!
Other Rooms
Image of Chromatic Iron Ore In specific cave themes, the player can find a room that appears to be full of deepslate and large chromatic iron veins. This is known as the Chromatic Caves room. No other loot exists in this room except for a large quantity of chromatic iron. It's recommended to use a pickarang to be able to easily mine the ores from a distance, then let your magnet pick up the ores.
Image of a Diamond Specifically in the lush cave theme and hovey cave theme, the player can find a room similar to the Chromatic Caves room, except the chromatic iron is switched out for diamonds. No other loot is present in these rooms.
